OUR APPROACH

Clear numbers. Clear explanations.

Our editorial approach is built around visible assumptions, understandable formulas, and honest limits.

How content is prepared

Educational content explains the purpose of each tool, what it includes, and what it leaves out. Examples are labeled as illustrations. Official sources such as the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau are linked where readers can verify financial concepts.

How calculations are checked

The mortgage calculation module is separate from the interface. Automated tests check standard payments, zero interest, extra principal, final balances, and invalid inputs. Calculators remain estimates because individual contracts and payment conventions vary.

Specialized program data

We do not maintain current FHA, VA, or BAH rate tables. Those tools use user-entered, independently verified fees or allowances and do not determine eligibility. We do not label unverified numbers as current government data.

Corrections and commercial relationships

We revise explanations and formulas when errors are identified. Content does not receive a claim of professional financial or legal review without that review taking place. Any future sponsored placement will be labeled and kept separate from calculation logic.
